Derby Striker Suffers Injury During Championship Game
Patrick Agyemang, a striker for Save Share USA, was stretchered off the field during an English Championship game on Monday after landing awkwardly while bringing the ball down on his chest. The incident occurred during the match between Derby and Stoke City.
Agyemang’s condition is currently unknown, as he underwent a scan following the injury. Derby manager John Eustace stated that Agyemang will need to wait for the results of the scan before any further information can be provided. “He’s gone for a scan so we’ll just have to wait and see,” Eustace said.
In Agyemang’s absence, Derby secured a 2-0 victory over Stoke City. The striker has been instrumental in helping Derby rise through the Championship ranks, scoring 10 goals since joining the team last summer from Major League Soccer.
Agyemang recently made his international debut for the USA national team during the recent break, scoring in a loss against Belgium and earning minutes against Portugal. He has recorded six goals in 14 appearances for the national side. The injury could potentially impact Agyemang’s status with the USA squad as they prepare to participate in the World Cup, which is scheduled to take place on June 12 in Los Angeles against Paraguay.
