Police Officers and Teenager Killed in Israeli Attack on Gaza Strip

At Least Five Police Officers Killed in Israeli Strike on Northern Gaza

A missile strike on a police post in northern Gaza has killed at least five police officers and a 13-year-old boy, according to Gaza police. The incident occurred in the at-Twam area of northern Gaza, where two missiles hit the police post.

The attack comes as dozens of people were wounded in Israeli attacks over the past 48 hours. Al Jazeera reported that the police officers were killed on the spot, and at least one civilian was also killed nearby. At least 10 others were injured.

Gaza police directorate stated that the missile strike was part of a pattern of deliberate targeting of police and local security personnel across Gaza. The incident is not an isolated event, but rather one of several attacks on law enforcement structures in recent days.

The Israeli military has carried out almost daily attacks on Gaza since a ceasefire was established in October 2025. The war that began following the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas resulted in at least 72,775 Palestinian deaths, with 883 people killed since the ceasefire came into effect.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported that eight Palestinians and 29 wounded people arrived at hospitals across Gaza in the past 48 hours. The attacks on Gaza’s police force further threaten the distribution of aid to the enclave, which is struggling with a humanitarian crisis.

Israel has imposed severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza despite the ceasefire. The strikes have made it difficult to secure aid convoys to areas most in need and increased the risk of looting and hijacking.

The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) reported that Palestinian children in Gaza are suffering from an increase in skin infections due to pests such as rats, lice, fleas, and mites. Health teams have been able to treat about 40 percent of the cases, but basic medicines are in short supply.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the people of Gaza, who continue to struggle with a humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the Israeli military’s actions.
