Prosecutor says France investigating 10 new suspected victims of Jeffrey Epstein

French Magistrates Launch Investigation into Epstein Case

A new development has emerged in the ongoing investigation into late US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. According to Paris Public Prosecutor Laure Beccuau, approximately 20 suspected victims have come forward in France since she urged potential victims to speak up in February.

Beccuau revealed that around 10 of these new victims are unknown to investigators and will be given the opportunity to share their experiences. Some of the victims are abroad and have been accommodated for meetings with French investigators. The prosecutor stated that her team is working closely with international authorities to gather evidence.

The investigation has also led to a human trafficking probe in France, following the release of files from the US Justice Department’s inquiry into Epstein’s activities. Magistrates are seeking to investigate possible offenses committed in France or involving French individuals who may have facilitated Epstein’s crimes.

As part of this effort, investigators have accessed Epstein’s computers, telephone records, and address books. Beccuau confirmed that her team will be making requests for international assistance to aid in the investigation.

It is worth noting that some suspected victims had previously been identified during separate probes into former European model agency boss Gerald Marie and late model agent Jean-Luc Brunel. French authorities arrested Brunel in 2020 on allegations of child abuse and procuring victims for Epstein, who died in US prison in August 2019 while facing charges related to human trafficking.
