Paris Saint-Germain Beats Bayern Munich 5-4 in Thrilling UEFA Champions League Semifinal
A high-scoring match between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich ended with a 5-4 victory for PSG, as the teams produced an exhilarating display of football. The game, which took place at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, saw five goals scored in the first half and four more in the second.
The match began with Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane scoring a penalty goal in the 17th minute, but PSG equalized seven minutes later through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s solo effort. The Georgian forward’s curling shot inside the right post of the German team’s goal left Bayern defender Josip Stanisic stunned.
The action continued as both teams pushed for the lead, with Joao Neves heading in from a corner in the 33rd minute and Michael Olise scoring for Bayern eight minutes later. PSG’s Luis Dembele scored twice in the first half, including a penalty goal, to level the score at 3-3.
The second half saw Kvaratskhelia score again, finding himself open in front of goal from a Hakimi pass, before Dembele sealed the win for PSG with two minutes left on the clock. Bayern Munich pulled two goals back through Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz, but PSG held on to secure the victory.
Former football great Thierry Henry praised the match as “pure cinema,” describing it as one of the best UEFA Champions League semifinals in recent years. Other experts and fans have echoed this sentiment, with many considering the game to be a highlight reel-worthy display of football.
