Qatari Prime Minister praises countrys resilience in face of Iranian attacks

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani addressed a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, urging resilience and commitment to ensuring the lives of everyday people in Qatar are not disrupted. The prime minister stated that Iran had targeted both military and civilian sites in Qatar, causing harm to the country and its resources.
Sheikh Mohammed praised the unity and cohesion of Qatari society, noting that citizens and residents alike have shown remarkable resilience during a significant moment for the country. He also commended the armed forces for their efforts to ensure safety and security.
The prime minister assured officials that they are working hard to maintain normal life for citizens and residents despite attacks from Iran. This effort is in line with the Emir’s instruction to work diligently to ensure that daily life remains uninterrupted.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of perseverance, highlighting Qatar’s ability to overcome challenges in the past. He also noted that the country has emerged stronger on every occasion.
Separately, Qatar’s ambassador to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, condemned Iran’s strikes as a clear violation of international law. The UN Security Council later voted in favor of a resolution denouncing the Iranian strikes on Gulf Cooperation Council states.
The situation has resulted in disruptions to travel and trade in several Gulf nations, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman. The broader conflict has also caused significant harm, with over 1,300 civilians killed in Iran.
