Real Madrid Coach Alvaro Arbeloa Announces Departure After Poor Season

Real Madrid Coach Arbeloa Announces Departure for End of Season

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has confirmed that he will not be returning as head coach next season, amid reports that Jose Mourinho is set to take over. The announcement was made at a news conference on Friday.

Arbeloa’s departure comes after a trophy-less season for the team. He was appointed as interim coach in January, replacing Xabi Alonso. When asked if he would remain with the team under Mourinho’s leadership, Arbeloa stated that there is no chance of him working alongside the Portuguese coach. “If he comes to Madrid, he will come with his own staff,” Arbeloa said.

Arbeloa expressed his hope that this match against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday would be a farewell rather than a goodbye. He has been associated with Real Madrid for 20 years in various roles, including playing for the team from 2009-2016 and coaching at the youth level.

The final La Liga match of the season is scheduled to take place at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. Arbeloa will not be returning as head coach next season, but his future plans are unclear.
