Russia and Ukraine exchange drone strikes, killing at least three civilians

Drone Attacks in Russia and Ukraine Result in Civilian Casualties

A Ukrainian drone has struck a residential building in Vladimir region, Russia, killing three civilians and injuring one. The attack occurred on Tuesday, according to Governor Alexander Avdeev.

Separately, a Russian drone hit a city bus in Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of at least three people and injuries to 12 others. Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha stated that the attack targeted the center of Nikopol city. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported that rescue teams freed seven people from the scene.

The incidents follow a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy renewed his offer for an Easter ceasefire, which Russia had previously declined. On Tuesday, Ukraine launched significant attacks on Russia’s Black Sea export facilities. In addition, a man sustained burns in Voronezh region, Russia, after a downed drone crashed onto the roof of a warehouse.

According to Ukraine’s air force, 77 out of 111 drones launched by Russia overnight were shot down. Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported that 45 Ukrainian drones were intercepted, including 19 over the Leningrad region.

On Monday, Zelenskyy reiterated his proposal for an Easter ceasefire contingent on Moscow halting all attacks on energy infrastructure. However, after an overnight attack on the Black Sea, he stated that Russia appeared unwilling to agree to such a deal.
