Multiple Attacks Hit Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Region, Causing Casualties and Damage
A series of attacks in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region have resulted in at least one fatality and four injuries, according to regional administration chief Oleksandr Ganzha. The attacks, which occurred on Tuesday morning, were carried out by Russian drones, with over 200 long-range drones reportedly used.
In addition to the attacks in Dnipropetrovsk, Russian drones also targeted energy infrastructure in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region, causing power outages, and struck residential buildings and a kindergarten in the Kyiv region. Authorities reported that Russian forces also carried out attacks on the regions of Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, and Chernihiv.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia used more than 200 drones to carry out the attacks, which he described as a “wave” of strikes. The US-brokered truce, which had been in place since Friday, expired on Tuesday morning. Russian President Vladimir Putin later suggested that the Ukraine war may be nearing its end and expressed willingness to meet with Zelenskyy in Moscow or a neutral country.
The Ministry of Defence reported that Ukrainian forces carried out over 1,000 ceasefire violations, including attacks on civilian targets and strikes against Russian military positions. Russia’s military claimed to have downed 27 Ukrainian drones in the regions of Belgorod, Voronezh, and Rostov. The exchange of aerial attacks marked a return to hostilities after a brief lull.
