Seattle Seahawks Defeat New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX
The Seattle Seahawks secured their second Super Bowl title by defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game saw a dominant defensive display from the Seahawks, who sacked Patriots quarterback Drake Maye six times.
The Seahawks received the ball to start the game and went on an eight-play drive that set up a 33-yard field goal by Jason Myers. Myers doubled the Seattle lead in the second quarter with a 39-yard field goal, and connected for another 41 yards in the closing seconds of the half. The Patriots punted on all five of their possessions during this time.
A costly fumble by Maye late in the third quarter led to a 16-yard touchdown for AJ Barner, but the Patriots responded with a touchdown drive of their own, cutting into the Seattle lead. After being pinned to their 4-yard line, the Patriots’ ensuing drive ended abruptly when a pass intended for Kyle Williams was intercepted.
The Seahawks then put the game out of reach with a strip sack of Maye, which saw Uchenna Nwosu scoop up the loose ball and return it 44 yards for the score. The Patriots attempted an onside kick but failed to recover, allowing Seattle to seal their victory.
Seattle’s Kenneth Walker III was named the Most Valuable Player after rushing for 135 yards on 27 carries. His performance proved decisive as the Seahawks claimed their second Super Bowl title.
