Strike alters fundamental principles of modern warfare tactics

Israel Conducts Strikes on Doha and Tehran with Unprecedented Precision

On September 9, 2025, Israel launched a missile strike against Qatar, targeting a sovereign state hosting negotiations that Israel was involved in. The attack occurred without any visible battlefield or front line, setting a precedent for future military operations.

In February 2026, Israel conducted another strike on Iran, targeting the compound of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran. This strike followed a similar pattern to the one in Qatar, with Israeli aircraft remaining outside the target state’s airspace and releasing a missile that completed the strike independently.

The key factor behind these strikes was the use of an advanced integrated operational sequence built upon a mature fused C7ISR architecture. This system integrates cyber and cognitive warfare with intelligence and command networks to accelerate decision-making and maintain superiority in the modern battlespace.

On February 28, 2026, Israel employed this capability to execute a precise strike on the Iranian target. An Israeli F-15I aircraft flew over international waters in the Red Sea, aligning roughly with the latitude of the Saudi port of Yanbu. The aircraft remained outside Saudi sovereign airspace, deliberately avoiding direct routes across the Arabian Peninsula.

The missile released from the aircraft followed a suborbital trajectory that carried it beyond the dense layers of the atmosphere into near space. Once separated, the rocket booster ignited, accelerating the missile to hypersonic speed. This allowed the strike to conclude in the terminal phase, with the missile re-entering the atmosphere steeply and committing to a near-vertical descent onto the target.

The use of this advanced capability has significant implications for future military operations. The system’s ability to penetrate defended airspace without traversing it is a limitation that cannot be overcome by existing air defense systems.
