Supreme Court Justices Criticized by Trump and JD Vance Over Tariff Ruling

US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have made public statements criticizing the justices of the US Supreme Court and their families. On Friday, the court issued a 6-3 decision striking down trade tariffs imposed by the White House.
In a 45-minute address to reporters at the White House, President Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the ruling, stating that he is “ashamed” of certain members of the court for not supporting his policy. He also made personal attacks on Justices Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, whom he appointed to the court during his first term.
Trump claimed that the Supreme Court has been influenced by foreign interests, without providing any evidence to support this assertion. In contrast, he praised the three justices who dissented in the ruling, including Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Brett Kavanaugh.
Vice President Vance also criticized the justices for their decision, using the term “lawlessness” to describe it. His comments were made on X, a social media platform.
The Supreme Court has six members appointed by Trump’s Republican Party, who have often ruled in favor of his administration’s policies. This marks a rare rebuke of the court from Trump and Vance.
