Syrian Government Forces Engage in Clashes with Kurdish-Led Fighters in Aleppo
Clashes broke out between Syrian government forces and a Kurdish-led faction in northern Aleppo on Tuesday, resulting in at least four fatalities. Three of the victims were civilians.
According to reports, the clashes involved the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a group backed by the US, and government forces. The SDF is led by Kurdish fighters.
Efforts to integrate the SDF with the national army have been ongoing, but progress has been limited so far.
The incident occurred in northern Aleppo, where the two sides faced off against each other. Details of the clashes are still emerging.
The Syrian Democratic Forces is a key player in the fight against extremist groups in Syria. The group’s relationship with the US and other international backers has been subject to scrutiny in recent years.
The government forces involved in the clashes have not commented on the incident, while the SDF has released a statement confirming the fighting took place in northern Aleppo.
The situation remains fluid, with further developments expected as more information becomes available.
