Ten people killed in shooting at British Columbia school

Ten people, including the shooter, have been killed in a shooting at a high school in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, according to police. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed that six individuals were found deceased inside the school, while another person died en route to hospital. Two more bodies were discovered at a residence believed to be connected to the incident.

The RCMP stated that an “active shooter” was involved in the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School shooting in British Columbia province. The individual suspected of being the shooter was also found deceased with what appears to be a self-inflicted injury.

Two victims have been airlifted to hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries, while approximately 25 others are being assessed and triaged at the local medical centre for non-life-threatening injuries. All remaining students and staff were safely evacuated from the school. The RCMP is working closely with the school district to facilitate a coordinated reunification process for families.

Police have confirmed that ten people, including the shooter, have lost their lives in the incident. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
