Gauff expressed concerns about the broadcasting of such moments, citing an incident in which Aryna Sabalenka smashed her racket during their 2023 US Open final match. Gauff also mentioned that she had previously experienced a similar situation with Sabalenka after playing each other in the US Open final.

Gauff emphasized that she did not want to lash out at her team, who she described as “good people.” She stated that she needed to release her emotions and acknowledged that she would have been snappy with others if she had not done so.
