Thirteen killed in gas explosion at Karachi building collapse

Rescue Efforts Ongoing After Karachi Gas Explosion

A gas explosion has occurred at an apartment building in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest port city, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. According to local police chief Rizwan Patel, the incident took place on Thursday in a residential area of the city.

At least 13 people have been confirmed dead, including women and children, while several others are injured. Rescuers are currently removing rubble from the site to search for any survivors trapped under the debris. The search-and-rescue operation is ongoing.

The explosion occurred at an apartment building that supplies natural gas for cooking, as well as liquefied petroleum gas cylinders due to low natural gas pressure. A similar incident occurred in July at a home in Islamabad, where eight people were killed following a gas explosion during a wedding reception.

Details of the incident are being verified by local authorities. The situation is being monitored, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
