US Department of State Hosts British Far-Right Activist Tommy Robinson
Tommy Robinson, a British far-right activist, recently visited the US Department of State as part of a trip to Washington, DC. During his visit, he was welcomed by government officials and supporters of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
Robinson posted on X that he had been invited to the @StateDept, where he met with US State Department official Joe Rittenhouse, who described him as a “free speech warrior”. Robinson also shared photos of his visit to the State Department, which appeared to show him touring the facility.
Rittenhouse’s post stated that he was honored to meet Robinson and praised his efforts in fighting for freedom of speech. The US State Department did not provide further information on who else Robinson met or what discussions took place during his visit.
Robinson has been a prominent figure in British nationalist circles, organizing large rallies and events, including one in London last September that drew an estimated 150,000 people. He also met with far-right US influencer Jack Posobiec and Congressman Randy Fine during his trip to Washington.
The visit follows a surge in support from the Trump administration for far-right activists in the UK and Europe, citing concerns about protecting “free speech”. The US Vice President has made comments criticizing European countries for stifling free speech and lax migration policies.
