Former US President Donald Trump has made comments suggesting that the current age of Supreme Court justices may be a factor in his consideration for potential vacancies.

Trump was speaking about the recent death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away at 87 years old. He mentioned how her passing affected the court and hinted that the age of current justices might impact his decision on filling future vacancies.

In a separate interview, Senator Mike Thune stated that the Senate GOP is “prepared” to fill potential Supreme Court vacancies if Justice Samuel Alito or Clarence Thomas were to retire.

Trump also expressed confidence in his ability to nominate new justices, stating he would be prepared to do so if either Alito or Thomas were to step down.
