Two people killed in Saudi Arabia by falling projectile

Saudi Authorities Report Fatalities in Al-Kharj City

At least two people have been killed after a projectile fell on a residential location in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Kharj city, according to official reports from the Saudi civil defence. The incident occurred on Sunday, with one Indian national and one Bangladeshi national among those affected. Twelve people were also injured.

Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that it had targeted radar systems in locations including Al-Kharj governorate, which is home to the Prince Sultan airbase used by US forces. The IRGC has been involved in repeated attacks on Gulf nations hosting US military assets over the past week.

Reports from Doha indicate that the projectile landed on a residential site belonging to a maintenance and cleaning company. The Saudi Defence Ministry reported intercepting 15 drones, including an attempted attack in the diplomatic quarter of Riyadh’s capital city. Kuwait also reported damage to fuel tanks at its international airport, while Bahrain stated that a water desalination plant had been damaged.

The conflict between Iran and its regional adversaries has entered its ninth day. The IRGC has warned that it will retaliate if US-Israeli attacks on its energy infrastructure do not cease. A spokesperson for the IRGC made a statement saying that if oil prices remain above $200 per barrel, “continue this game”. The Arab League’s secretary-general has urged Iran to reverse its actions, describing them as “reckless”.

According to official reports, at least 1,200 civilians have been killed and around 10,000 wounded since the conflict began on February 28.
