Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a warning to Belarus regarding its involvement in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. In a video address shared on social media, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is prepared to respond to any suspicious activity along its shared border with Belarus.
Zelenskyy did not provide further details about the unusual activity but emphasized that Ukraine will take necessary measures to defend its sovereignty. He reiterated his previous warnings to Minsk, stating that Moscow’s actions may attempt to draw Belarus into the conflict.
Ukraine has been strengthening its military presence along the border, including the deployment of new roads and artillery positions. Zelenskyy accused Russia of using apartment blocks in Belarus as a launching point for attacks and circumventing Ukraine’s defenses.
Separately, Ukrainian media reported that at least two people were killed in a drone strike on a minibus in the Dniprovskyi district. Other cities, including Kherson, Dnipro, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv, have also been targeted by drones.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported taking control of the village of Myropillia in the Sumy region. The Russian military has made advances on the front line, with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskii stating that Russian troops are moving towards Kostiantynivka, a heavily defended area.
Ukrainian officials also reported that Russia launched over 400 drones during the day on Friday. In response, Ukrainian drones hit Russia’s Tuapse port for the fourth time in 16 days.
