Ukraines Zelenskyy Offers Assistance to Saudi Arabia Against Iranian Drones

Ukraine’s President Proposes Low-Cost Interceptor Offer to Saudi Arabia and Gulf Nations

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made an offer to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations to provide expertise in intercepting Iranian Shahed drones. The proposal was made on social media platform X, where Zelenskyy stated that he spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about countering threats from the Iranian regime.

Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukraine has experience in dealing with “shahed” drones, which have been used by Iran to attack neighboring countries hosting US assets. The Ukrainian leader said that his country is ready to assist others in countermeasures.

Ukraine’s domestic arms industry has developed low-cost interceptor drones priced at around $1,000 to $2,000, which are significantly cheaper than the expensive Patriot missiles used by other countries. These drones have been mass-produced within months and are now being offered as a solution to help Gulf nations defend against Iranian drones.

Zelenskyy has also spoken with leaders of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, offering assistance in countering the drones. The Ukrainian president is seeking to increase Ukraine’s leverage with allies and obtain defense systems it needs to defend itself against Russia’s ballistic missiles.

US President Donald Trump has expressed willingness to accept assistance from any country in defending against Iranian drones.
