US and China leaders discuss Strait of Hormuz security with Iran tensions rising

US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held discussions in Beijing, where they agreed on the importance of maintaining access to the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a statement from the White House, Xi Jinping expressed support for keeping the strategic waterway open to ensure the free flow of energy. This agreement comes as tensions over the Iran conflict continue to affect global markets.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi addressed fellow BRICS nations in New Delhi, India, where he called on them to condemn the US-Israeli actions against Iran as a violation of international law. Araghchi stated that Tehran would not yield to any pressure.

Separately, direct talks between Lebanese and Israeli negotiators are underway in Washington, DC, aimed at ending hostilities. However, Israeli attacks continue across towns and villages in southern Lebanon.

The details of these discussions have been shared publicly by the White House and Iranian officials. The situation remains fluid as various parties engage in diplomatic efforts to address ongoing conflicts.
