US-China Relations: Analyst Victor Gao Sees Shift in American Attitude
A recent discussion between Chinese political analyst Victor Gao and host Steve Clemons has shed light on the evolving dynamics between the United States and China. According to Gao, vice president of the Center for China and Globalization in Beijing, the US has come to accept its limitations in policing the global arena.
Gao stated that the US has acknowledged it cannot maintain a one-size-fits-all approach to international relations. This shift in perspective is seen as a significant development in the complex relationship between the two nations.
Despite this apparent acceptance, Gao noted that some American policymakers continue to view China as a primary threat. He also warned that Chinese officials remain cautious of potential security risks from extremist groups within the US.
In addition to its economic influence, Gao emphasized that China is now seen as a major player in the field of artificial intelligence. Beijing’s efforts have led to a reevaluation of the US’s dominance in this area.
Gao’s comments suggest that improved relations between the two countries are becoming increasingly likely. However, he also highlighted the need for continued vigilance and cooperation to address shared security concerns.
