US and Iran Continue Mediated Talks
Mediated talks between the US and Iran have continued, with both sides exchanging draft proposals aimed at reaching a formal agreement. According to reports from Iranian media, Pakistani officials are engaged in intense mediation activity between the two countries.
The diplomatic push comes as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that there were some good signs for a possible breakthrough. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump warned that Washington could take drastic action if Iran refuses to give up its uranium stockpiles.
Separately, Iran has accused the US and Israel of committing a “war crime” by bombing the Pasteur Institute of Iran in early 2022. The attack allegedly severely damaged a key pillar of the country’s public health system.
US forces remain at peak readiness in the Arabian Sea, with CENTCOM sharing images of warplanes taking off. Palestine’s UN envoy Riyad Mansour has condemned Israel’s blockade on aid and ongoing attacks, which have affected over two million Palestinians.
