Iran Experiences Widespread Destruction from US-Israeli Strikes
A series of attacks attributed to the United States and Israel have targeted various locations across Iran, resulting in significant damage and disruption to daily life. According to official reports, at least 3,600 civilian sites have been affected by these strikes.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that 33 civilian locations nationwide have been targeted, including hospitals, schools, residential areas, the Tehran Grand Bazaar, and cultural sites such as the Golestan Palace complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Azadi Stadium, Iran’s largest sports complex, was also damaged.
Iranian authorities report damage to major medical facilities, including Khatam Hospital and Gandhi Hospital, with some patients injured due to structural collapses during strikes. Facilities like Valiasr Burn Hospital have been rendered inoperable.
Residents of Tehran have reported increased bombardment, stating that the situation is becoming increasingly dire. The death toll in Iran has risen to at least 1,230 since Saturday, according to official reports.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has verified over 10 attacks on Iran’s health infrastructure during the US-Israeli campaign, resulting in four healthcare worker deaths and 25 injuries. The WHO has also reported damage to ambulances and minor damage to hospitals due to nearby strikes.
In addition to the attacks in Iran, Israel has expanded its operations to include Lebanon. A US submarine has also been involved in a separate incident, torpedoing and sinking an Iranian frigate, Iris Dena, in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka.
