US-Israel Attack Targeted Irans Progress in Artificial Intelligence Development

Tehran University Attacked in Latest Wave of Conflict

A bombing at the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran has caused significant damage and disruption to the institution’s operations. The university’s artificial intelligence center, which housed critical databases, was among the targeted buildings.

University President Masoud Tajrishi stated that the attack may have been intended to hinder Iran’s progress in developing AI technology. He noted that the country had made significant strides in this area, including training AI models in Persian for two years and providing services to hundreds of companies.

The attack occurred as part of a broader wave of violence targeting critical infrastructure across Iran. The US and Israel have not provided an official explanation for their actions, but have been accused of targeting civilian sites, including cultural heritage institutions.

According to reports, more than 30 universities have been affected by US and Israeli attacks since the start of the conflict on February 28. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared these universities “legitimate targets.”

In response to the attacks, some university leaders have called for restraint, while others have demanded retaliatory action. The US military has continued to target Iran’s infrastructure, including its railway network and critical civilian sites.

The conflict has resulted in significant loss of life, with over 2,000 people killed since the start of the war. The situation remains fluid, with ongoing violence and uncertainty.
