US President Donald Trump Confirms Review of Iran’s 14-Point Peace Plan
Washington D.C. - In a statement made on Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that he has been briefed on Iran’s 14-point proposal to end the ongoing conflict between the two countries. The plan, which includes measures such as lifting the U.S. naval blockade and war reparations, was presented by Tehran in an effort to negotiate a peace agreement.
Trump stated that the U.S. is “doing very well” in its efforts to resolve the situation, while also acknowledging that Iran’s proposal may be difficult to accept given the country’s past actions. He noted that if Iran were to “misbehave,” there was a possibility that strikes could resume.
The 14-point plan, which has been presented by Tehran, calls for a range of concessions from the U.S., including the lifting of the naval blockade and the release of frozen assets. The proposal also includes a 30-day window for finalizing the terms of the peace agreement.
Despite the fragile three-week truce that has put an end to the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, tensions remain high. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated on Saturday that it remains on “full standby” for a return to hostilities, citing concerns over the U.S.’s lack of commitment to previous treaties.
Technical obstacles, including the presence of Iranian sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, have also complicated efforts to reopen the waterway. Furthermore, the U.S. withdrawal of 5,000 troops from Germany has strained relations with NATO allies.
The situation remains fluid, and further developments are expected as negotiations between the two countries continue.
