US President Trump warns of hell for Iran over Hormuz Strait tensions

US President Donald Trump Threatens Military Action Against Iranian Infrastructure

United States President Donald Trump has issued a statement on his Truth Social account, threatening to target civilian infrastructure in Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened by Monday. The deadline was set by Trump on March 26 for Iran to reopen the key shipping route, which has been closed since US and Israeli attacks on February 28.

According to Trump’s post, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day” in Iran, with no further details provided. The statement also includes a reference to a previous threat made by Trump, stating that Iran would face severe consequences if its infrastructure is targeted.

Trump has stated that he believes negotiations between the US and Iran are ongoing, and that a deal could be reached before Monday’s deadline. However, Iranian officials have denied seeking to end the war, and have vowed to escalate tensions across the region if their infrastructure is targeted.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth previously warned Iran that it would face “overwhelming violence” if it does not capitulate to US demands. Experts have raised concerns about potential war crimes resulting from US-Israeli strikes on civilian targets in Iran.

Trump has announced plans to hold a news conference at the White House on Monday, and has also provided updates on the rescue of an F-15E fighter jet pilot shot down over Iran on Friday.
