US President Trump Warns of Potential Iranian Civilian Casualties Tonight

US President Trump Makes Threats Against Iran

President Donald Trump has made a social media post warning that if Iran does not comply with his demands, the United States will destroy its civilian infrastructure. The deadline for Iran to respond was set at 8pm Washington time on Tuesday.

Trump’s post stated that “a whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again” if Iran fails to meet his terms. This is part of a series of warnings Trump has issued since the US and Israel launched their military campaign against Iran on February 28.

Legal experts have expressed concern over Trump’s threats, with one describing them as “horrific” and “pure evil”. Several Democratic lawmakers have condemned Trump’s rhetoric, calling for an end to the war. They include Senator Chuck Schumer, who described Trump as “extremely sick”, and Representative Hakeem Jeffries, who urged Republican lawmakers to prioritize their duties over party loyalty.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has also called for invoking the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution to remove Trump from office due to his alleged unfitness. Congressman Jim McGovern emphasized that the US military is required to disobey “illegal orders”.

On the other hand, some Republican lawmakers have downplayed Trump’s threat, suggesting that he will target only Iran’s energy infrastructure and civilian infrastructure. However, others have defended Trump’s actions as within his legal authority as commander-in-chief.

The US president had set a deadline for Iran to respond on Tuesday, which expired at 8pm Washington time. The situation remains tense, with the international community watching closely.
