Wexner Testifies He Was Conned by Epstein, Democrats Dispute His Claims

Les Wexner Testifies Before US Legislators on Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein

In written testimony submitted to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, billionaire Les Wexner has stated that he had been “duped” by late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Wexner, founder of L Brands and owner of Victoria’s Secret, made the statement in response to a subpoena from the committee, which is investigating Epstein’s ties to the US elite.

Wexner described his relationship with Epstein as beginning in the mid-1980s, when he hired him to manage his wealth. He stated that he had “irrevocably cut ties” with Epstein around 2007, after learning of his alleged abuse of girls and young women. Wexner claimed that his wife, Abigail, had discovered that Epstein had stolen “vast sums” from their family, leading him to sever all contact.

In his testimony, Wexner denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and stated that he was not aware of the full extent of the money transferred to Epstein. He also admitted to visiting Epstein’s properties, including his private island, but only on one occasion while accompanied by his family.

The committee has released a video and transcript of Wexner’s deposition, which is expected to be made public soon. Some Democratic lawmakers have questioned Wexner’s narrative, citing their long-standing professional relationship with him. Representative Robert Garcia stated that Wexner had provided significant financial support to Epstein, and that he appeared “unaware” of the full extent of the money transferred.

Wexner has also responded to allegations by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed in court documents that he was among the men Epstein trafficked her to. In his testimony, Wexner denied these allegations and stated that he had never been unfaithful to his wife of 33 years.
