City Storms Past Exeter, Semenyo Shines
Manchester City made light work of League One Exeter City in their FA Cup third-round encounter at the Etihad Stadium, thrashing the underdogs 10-1. Antoine Semenyo marked his highly anticipated debut with a goal and assist in an impressive performance that left fans and pundits alike impressed. The 25-year-old winger was handed a start by Pep Guardiola, and he made the most of it, causing chaos on the Exeter defense time and again with his quick feet and skillful dribbling. Semenyo’s debut strike came in the 31st minute, after he had been played through by Bernardo Silva. He beat two defenders before slotting past the goalkeeper to give City a 2-0 lead. The crowd sensed something special was about to happen as Semenyo continued to terrorize the Exeter defense with his pace and agility. The City midfielder, James McAtee, added a third goal in the second half, and from there on out, it was a matter of how many goals Manchester City could score. In total, they netted ten times against an Exeter side that looked shell-shocked by the speed and precision of their opponents’ attacking play. In between those ten City goals, Semenyo added another, making him one of the stars of the show. He was well supported by his teammates, with Phil Foden scoring twice to further pile pressure on the Championship side.
