Mountain West Connection Earns Recognition in Bowl Season
The Mountain West Conference has announced its selections for the All-Bowl Team, recognizing the top performers from bowl games across the country. Quarterbacks Garrett Williams (Boise State) and Sam Howell (UNLV) led their respective teams to victories, with Williams throwing for 234 yards and three touchdowns in Boise State’s 28-21 win over SMU. Howell threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns in UNLV’s 24-20 upset of Oregon. Boise State running back Jeremy Reeces made a significant impact in the Fiesta Bowl, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown against Oklahoma State. His teammate, wide receiver KJ Hamler, also had a standout performance, hauling in six receptions for 104 yards. UNLV’s defensive line was a force to be reckoned with, holding Oregon’s offense to just 247 total yards. Defensive end Alfonso Boone led the way with three tackles for loss and two sacks. Other notable performances came from SMU quarterback Tanner Morrison, who threw for 251 yards in his team’s loss to Boise State. Oklahoma State running back Spencer Sanders had a monster game against Boise State, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown.
