Ravens Cut Ties with Ga. Lineman
The Baltimore Ravens have released tight end Cole Schramm, a member of their practice squad since November, however, in a surprise move, it is reported that the team has waived former first-round pick Andrew Thomas, the left tackle from Georgia who was drafted by Baltimore in 2021. Thomas spent five seasons with the Ravens but failed to establish himself as a starter. In his time with the team, he played a limited role and saw significant action behind veteran starters Ronnie Stanley and Laremy Tunsil. Despite being given every opportunity to prove himself, Thomas struggled to regain his form and was eventually relegated to depth roles. The Ravens have since brought in new talent in an effort to improve their pass protection unit. With the move, the Ravens will be looking for a new left tackle to compete with Stanley and Tunsil. While this might be a blow to fans who were hoping Thomas would finally break through as a starter, it’s likely that the team is moving forward in pursuit of better results on the field. The loss marks an end to Thomas’ journey with the Ravens after a highly touted draft pick from Georgia.
