UFL Hires Former NFL Quarterback Chris Redman as Head Coach
Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Chris Redman has been hired by the Louisville Kings of the United Football League (UFL) as their new head coach, according to sources close to the team. Redman, who played in the NFL for 11 seasons, will bring his coaching experience and knowledge of the game to the UFL. He was a member of the Ravens’ staff from 2010 to 2011, serving as an offensive assistant coach under then-head coach John Harbaugh. The Louisville Kings are one of several teams that have been rebranded in recent years, with the franchise previously known as the Iowa Barnstormers. The team’s new ownership group has vowed to bring a competitive and entertaining brand of football to the city, and Redman is seen as a key player in achieving that goal. “We’re thrilled to welcome Chris Redman to our staff,” said Louisville Kings owner Tony Ressler. “His experience and passion for the game make him the ideal candidate to lead our team to success.” Redman, who won two Grey Cup championships with the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League (CFL), is expected to bring a new level of excitement and competitiveness to the UFL’s Midwest division. “I’m excited to be back in football and to have the opportunity to coach at this level,” Redman said. “I’m looking forward to working with our talented players and staff, and I’m confident that we can make some noise in the UFL.”
