Virginia Tech football secures key addition to its rushing attack
The Hokies have announced the arrival of Bill Davis, a skilled running back who has made an impact in his three seasons at Louisiana. A transfer student looking to start fresh and make his mark, Davis brings a unique combination of speed, agility, and power to the table. At 5'10" and weighing 205 pounds, Davis is a compact but explosive back who excels in the open field. His ability to burst through holes and turn short gains into big plays will be a valuable asset for Virginia Tech’s high-powered offense. Davis spent the past three seasons at Louisiana, where he played behind a more established running back and still managed to rack up over 1,000 yards on the ground. He also caught 20 passes out of the backfield and scored 6 touchdowns as a receiver. A four-star recruit coming out of high school, Davis has been quietly developing his skills in college and is now poised to take on a key role in Virginia Tech’s backfield. With his speed, agility, and work ethic, he has all the tools necessary to make an immediate impact for the Hokies. Coach Mike Lucknott said in a statement that Davis brings exactly what they need - speed and power. “We’re excited about Bill joining our team and contributing to our offense,” he said. “He’s a talented back who is eager to learn and fit in with our system.” Davis will have a chance to prove himself right away, as the Hokies prepare for their upcoming season opener against rival Virginia. With his speed, agility, and work ethic, he has all the ingredients necessary to make a big impact on the field.
