6G Era to Begin with Mobile World Congress 2026
The next generation of wireless technology, known as 6G, is set to be formally established at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where it will be a major topic of discussion. Following the release of 5G networks in 2019, some of its promised features and benefits have not yet materialized, such as widespread adoption of autonomous vehicles and robot surgeons. Unlike previous G-iteration upgrades, which brought incremental improvements rather than revolutionary changes, the development of 6G is expected to be a more significant leap forward. This new standard aims to address the limitations of 5G and provide faster data speeds, lower latency, and greater connectivity.
