Acura RDX to Get Two-Motor Hybrid System in Next-Gen Model
The next-generation Acura RDX will be the brand’s first SUV to feature a two-motor hybrid system, marking a significant shift towards electrification for Honda’s luxury division. Production of the current RDX, which has sold nearly 740,000 units in the US since its launch in 2018, is set to end this year. The automaker will then pause production before introducing the new all-electric Acura RSX and the Honda Zero SUV, both of which are currently on track for release later this year. No official timeline has been provided for the release of the next-generation RDX, but its development suggests that it may arrive sooner rather than later. With the growing emphasis on electrification in the automotive industry, Honda is likely to capitalize on this trend with its new hybrid system and expanding lineup of electric vehicles.
