AI-Generated Film to Debut at Tribeca Festival
A $2,000 AI-generated film will make its debut at Tribeca next month, with “Dreams of Violets” premiering as a fictional dramatization of Iran’s mass killings in January, entirely created by artificial intelligence. The 75-minute film was produced by Fountain 0, a company co-founded by brothers Ash and Pooya Koosha, who fled Iran in 2009. The film is said to be based on journalistic reports, photographs, and eyewitness accounts, with the production costs remarkably low at $2,000. As CEO of Fountain 0, Ash oversees the company’s operations, while Pooya serves as its co-founder. The debut of “Dreams of Violets” marks a significant milestone in AI-generated content, raising questions about the potential of this technology to create immersive and realistic narratives. With its unique blend of art and technology, “Dreams of Violets” is set to captivate audiences at Tribeca Festival, offering a glimpse into the future of filmmaking.
