AI Patches Vulnerabilities Before Attackers Can Exploit Them
OpenAI is launching Daybreak, an AI-powered security initiative designed to detect and patch vulnerabilities before they can be exploited by attackers. The new initiative leverages OpenAI’s Codex Security AI agent to create a threat model based on an organization’s code, identifying potential attack paths and validating likely vulnerabilities. The system then automates the detection of high-risk vulnerabilities, providing organizations with real-time insights into their security posture. This move comes just over a month after Anthropic unveiled its own security-focused AI model, Claude Mythos, which was only shared privately as part of the company’s Project Glasswing initiative. Despite the secrecy surrounding Claudemynis AI, OpenAI’s Daybreak is now poised to offer organizations a similar level of protection and proactive threat detection capabilities.
