Android 17 Continues On

Google is introducing a new feature that mirrors Apple’s Handoff functionality, enabling seamless task continuation between Android smartphones and compatible tablets. Dubbed “Continue On,” this feature allows users to start a task on their phone and pick it up where they left off from the tablet. At launch, Continue On will only facilitate tasks moving from a smartphone to a tablet, but Google plans to expand its bidirectional capabilities in the future. When available, users can expect to see the Continue On icon in the dock of their Android tablets, suggesting recently used apps from their smartphones if they are also installed on the tablet.
