Apple Considering Integration of Third-Party Chatbots in CarPlay

Apple is reportedly working on adding support for third-party voice control apps from major developers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, allowing users to access their preferred chatbots directly through CarPlay. This move could enable users to utilize popular chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini without needing to interact with Siri. However, the company has stated that it will not allow users to replace the existing Siri button or wake word in CarPlay, instead requiring them to manually open their preferred chatbot’s app.
