Apple Introduces End-to-End Encrypted RCS Messaging on iPhone
Apple has initiated testing of end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) RCS messaging on iPhones with the release of iOS 26.4 developer beta, a significant step towards integrating this feature into its platform. The company aims to support E2EE RCS messages between Apple devices and Android users, but for now, it’s only exploring encryption between Apple devices itself. This initial implementation won’t be available in the upcoming iOS 26.4 update, with Apple planning to release the feature in a future software update. E2EE RCS messaging offers enhanced security compared to traditional RCS messaging, ensuring that messages are encrypted and private throughout transmission.
