Apple to Introduce AI Chatbot Integration for Siri
This update allows users to select from multiple third-party chatbots for use with Siri, expanding the voice assistant’s capabilities and potentially increasing competition in the AI landscape. The new system, known as “Extensions,” enables users to enable or disable individual chatbots on supported devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This integration is made possible through a partnership between Apple and third-party developers of popular chatbots like Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude, which can now fetch responses for Siri similar to how it already works with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
