Artemis II Mission Marks Historic Journey Around Far Side of the Moon
Today, April 6th, 2026, NASA’s Artemis II mission successfully broke the record for the furthest distance humans have traveled away from Earth as its astronauts flew around the far side of the Moon. The four-person crew, aboard the Orion spacecraft, began their historic journey around the lunar horizon on Monday morning and will continue to transmit updates back to Mission Control throughout the 10-day mission.
