Celebrities to Gain Control Over AI Deepfakes on YouTube
YouTube is expanding its AI deepfake monitoring feature to include celebrities, who will be able to find and request removal of fake videos featuring their likenesses on the platform. The feature uses likeness detection technology to search for AI-generated content that resembles public figures and flags it for review. Once flagged, the public figure can submit a request for takedown, which is evaluated against YouTube’s privacy policy. This move aims to give celebrities more control over how they are represented online and reduce the spread of misinformation through deepfakes.
