Dell Admits Consumers Are Overwhelmed by AI-Powered PCs
Dell is shifting its focus away from building highly specialized AI-powered computers, instead emphasizing that many consumers are not interested in the technology itself but rather what features and capabilities it enables. According to Kevin Terwilliger, Dell’s head of product, consumers tend to view AI in their PCs as a feature rather than the central selling point. He stated that AI often causes more confusion among consumers rather than providing tangible benefits. As a result, Dell is looking towards a more balanced approach for its 2026 products, incorporating NPU (Neural Processing Unit) technology into various devices and focusing on delivering real-world benefits to users.
