Disney Seeks To Limit Spread Of Viral AI Video App
A popular AI-powered video app has come under scrutiny from Disney, with the company reportedly planning to curb its usage after users began sharing videos featuring Disney’s intellectual properties. The app in question, Seedance, utilizes artificial intelligence to create short-form videos that often incorporate recognizable characters and scenes from various franchises, including Disney’s Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man series. Since a recent update, videos featuring Spider-Man and other beloved Disney IPs have gone viral on social media platforms, sparking concerns among the company about unauthorized use of its intellectual property. Disney has since sent a cease and desist letter to ByteDance, the Chinese tech giant behind Seedance, demanding that it take immediate action to remove such content from its platform. As a result, ByteDance is now reportedly exploring ways to mitigate the issue, including implementing stricter moderation measures on user-generated content and potentially revoking access to certain features for users who continue to disregard Disney’s intellectual property rights.
