Dreame Launches Two Phones Amid Skeptical Reactions
Dreame, a Chinese manufacturer known for its robot vacuums, has announced the launch of two smartphones, sparking skepticism among industry observers. The company showcased the devices at its Next event in California, where they were previously unveiled in China in March. However, neither phone has been made available in the US or elsewhere, and Dreame has only revealed a limited number of specifications about either model. The more intriguing device, the Aurora Nex LS1, is a modular smartphone featuring a magnetic attachment point for the rear camera. This design allows users to easily swap out camera lenses, potentially offering greater flexibility in terms of photography capabilities. Despite this innovative feature, many are questioning the timing and viability of Dreame’s foray into the smartphone market, citing the company’s lack of experience in producing consumer electronics outside of its existing product line.
