Electric Supercars Struggle to Gain Traction
Automakers continue to face challenges in producing and marketing purely electric sports cars, despite growing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles. Porsche has revisited its plans for an all-electric Boxster and Cayman lineup, citing concerns over technical limitations and customer indifference. Meanwhile, Lamborghini has abandoned its first all-electric model project, with the CEO stating that customers show little interest in battery-powered supercars. In contrast, General Motors is exploring hybrid models, such as the Corvette ZR1X, which combines a powerful internal combustion engine with electric power for increased efficiency and reduced emissions.
