Federal Judge Rules Meta Not Illegal Monopolist
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has expressed disappointment over a federal judge’s ruling that found Meta Platforms, Inc., not liable for violating antitrust laws. In a statement released after the decision, FTC spokesperson Joe Simonson described the outcome as “a classic example of regulatory capture.” However, it appears that Mr. Simonson may have also been referencing personal attacks on Judge James Boasberg who delivered the ruling. According to sources close to the matter, Mr. Boasberg is currently facing impeachment proceedings after issuing rulings that were unfavorable to Republican lawmakers and certain politicians.
