Flipboard Launches Surf: A Browser for the Fediverse and Open Social Web

Surf is a complex application that can be difficult to categorize, but it primarily functions as a gateway to various social media platforms and content sources. Users can access fediverse apps like Bluesky and Mastodon through Surf, browse feeds of websites, podcasts, and YouTube channels, and create curated magazines similar to Flipboard’s own platform. By consolidating these functionalities into one interface, Surf presents an innovative approach to navigating the vast expanse of online social networks. Following more than a year of beta testing, Surf is now available for public use through its web interface. A mobile version is also being developed, although it has not yet been made available.
